DAQ Tag Trigger Setup
When creating a Data Acquisition tag for an existing device, you may choose to designate the tag as a data trigger. This is most often used by machinery to notify the applications that data is ready to read or that a machine operation is ready to be performed, such as a Press Ready bit.
In order to designate a tag as a trigger, select the tag from the list of existing tags and click the edit button. Alternatively, you may select to create a new tag. Either action will enable the Edit panel, as shown below.
To designate the tag as a trigger, click the checkbox at the bottom of the edit panel labeled ‘Trigger’. This will open a dialog allowing you to specify the trigger conditions and reset value. In the example below, the trigger will activate when the value of the tag is set to 1. The application will act based on how the trigger is applied, and will then reset the value of the tag to 0.
Additionally, numeric values can be set for non-binary tag values.
Once the trigger conditions are set and the tag data is correct, clicking apply will save the changes to your database. A restart of the application may be required for the new changes to take effect.
