Lubrication
Setup
In order to assign lubrication type data to a mount record, you must first establish which lubrication types are available. This is done in the Shop Manager -> Options window by selecting the Settings option in the left-hand menu. From there, enter the available lubrication types as a list separated by commas. The example list below contains three lubrication types: WM-10, Linseed Oil, and Mom’s Whale Oil.
*Note: In order to use newly created lubrication types in assembly configurations, you will need to restart Shop Manager after adding them.
Adding by Default
Once your lubrication types are added, you can assign them manually at the wheel press or by default via Shop Manager. Default values are set on assembly configurations and automatically applied at the press unless they are manually overwritten. To assign a default lubrication type, select the component position from the Assembly Configuration and choose the desired lubrication type from the drop down menu.
*Note: When setting a default lubrication type, it must be set for EACH component position to which it will be applied. In addition, if desired, the default lubrication type can be set differently for each component position. Though not visible, in the example above, Wheel A is defaulted to WM-10 while Wheel B is defaulted to Linseed Oil.
Mounting
Lubrication types are assigned to mounts at the Wheel Press Recorder when the mount record is saved. If a default lubrication type is assigned to the assembly configuration, it will be automatically set when the assembly configuration is selected. Otherwise, the selection can be made or changed via a drop down menu on the default press screen.
*Note: The location shown in the example above uses a default pressing view. If you use a customized pressing view, you will need to ensure the drop down menu is present in order to select a lubrication type at WPR.
*Note: You may only assign one lubrication type at WPR to both wheels. If different lubrication type defaults are set in Shop Manager, they will be applied by default; however, select a lubrication type from the drop down menu will set BOTH wheels to that lubrication type, even if they are different by default.
