Adding Components

The screen is layed out into two main sections. The left side of the screen is for entering the required component data to add new components to the shipment. The component types, properties, elements, etc are all specified by the Shipment Type for the shipment. You can configure the Shipment Type settings from the Shop Manager application. For more information, refer to the Shop Manager documentation.

You can enter multiple components at the same time by specifying a quantity before clicking Add. Properties like CID and Wip ID will be serialized, however other properties and elements will receive the same values for all components.

Component List

The right side of the screen lists all of the components that have already been added to the shipment. The fields displayed in the list are also specified by the Shipment Type. There is a ‘Remove’ button to the left of each item in the list that will remove the component from the shipment. For Inbound shipments, this will also delete the component unless it has already been recorded at another station.

When you are finished entering components you can return to the Shipment List screen by clicking the ‘Leave Incomplete’ or ‘Complete Shipment’ buttons. Leaving Incomplete will allow you to re-open the shipment later and continue to add more components. Complete Shipment will change the status of the shipment to Complete which will remove it from the Shipment List (only Incomlete shipments are shown). You can view or modify the shipment from Shop Manager at any time.

Label Printing

If Label Printing is configured in the Shipment Type settings, a barcode label will be printed either each time a component is added to the shipment, or labels for all components will be printed when the shipment’s status is changed to Complete. For Windows devices, the default print settings dialog will be used to select a printer and adjust any settings (if necessary). Mobile devices like Android and iOS devices typically do not support label printers natively. If the label printer is a supported Zebra printer, Inbound can use the Zebra BrowserPrint application to send the labels to the printer. For more information about using Zebra’s BrowserPrint with Inbound, contact AIC Rail support.
