Adding a new ‘Base Model Number’ and ‘AAR Approval Number’ in Component Inspection
When a valve manufacturer adds a new valve model or requests an update to be made to a valve model number in the Umler Registry it has to be updated in Component Inspection. When the new valve model number is added it will have an AAR Approval Number that will need to be added as well.
In this example we will add the McKenzie SRV-1280.5J-CSSS-F4 model valve and the appropriate AAR Approval Number “PRD-207051”.
If you have multiple shops, you will need to perform this update for each of your locations.
We will begin by logging into Component Inspection with our ‘Admin’ account.
Click the ‘Home’ button, then click the ‘Admin’ button in the top left.
Login with your Admin credentials.
Click ‘Home’, again.
Click ‘Manage Lookups’ to open ‘Lookup Manager’
We need to add a new Base Model Number (Element D104), click ‘D104 – Base Model Number’ then click ‘Edit’.
Click ‘+’.
Now add the new valve. Be sure to add the proper ‘Condition’ in the space provided. In this case we are using the M-1003 code for McKenzie Valve.
Then click ‘Ok’.
Now click ‘Save’.
Now we will add the AAR Approval Number (Element D111) for this new valve.
Click ‘D111 – AAR Approval Number’ then click ‘Edit’.
Now click ‘+’
Add the new approval number and use the same value for ‘Name’ and ‘Value’. You will need to make sure the ‘Condition’ points to the correct value for Element D104, in this case the value is ‘SRV-1280.5J-CSSS-F4’.
Once you’ve entered all of the required information click ‘Ok’
Then click ‘Save’.
If you followed the steps as shown you should now see the new Base Model Number in the dropdown when creating a new valve.
